L'Arche Greater Vancouver is part of an International Federation. Today, there are 355 houses in 124 communities in 30 countries. L'Arche provides nearly 200 small homes and day program settings across Canada.
Founded in France in 1964 by Jean Vanier, the son of Canadian Governor-General Georges Vanier, the ecumenical and interfaith communities of L'Arche began in response to the needs of people with developmental disabilities to find a valid place in society. While founded in a Roman Catholic context, today we are ecumenical and interreligious and welcome people of all faiths. |
